Why should you advertise with Google Ads?

If you’re looking for a way to increase your visibility online, Google Ads can help you reach the right people.

You might have heard of Google Ads.  How does it work?

It’s an online software that creates search, display and other types of adverts depending on your targeted clientele. The Google Ads platform runs on pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, which means you set your budget, create your objectives and target markets.

Targeting the right people for the right business.

Google is capable of tracking a person’s searches and identifying what they’re interested in. In-market audiences reach users based on their recent purchase intent or who search for specific queries within a given market. If a person wants a specific product- coffee in Exeter- Google Ads will track their searches and find out that they’ve been searching for coffee houses in Exeter.

These people will then see relevant ads in their searching feed about coffee. Here is an example of an ad that we created for one of our branches, Grow Coffee House:

The purpose of this add was to attract Exeter Uni students. After a month, it had received more than 10,000 views and the coffee house saw a great overall increase of visits in the following week.

If you’re struggling to find the right target audience, you could also look into the trends that Google picks up on.

Google will show you exactly what your audience is looking for.

One of the headlines used in this campaign was: Working Hub. Surprisingly, this headline has had more clicks and therefore did better than the promo offering 10% discount. Sometimes, even if the campaign is targeted onto something, Google Ads will show you what your audience is really looking for. You can then review your marketing strategy depending on what headline was most searched for.

Google’s enormous reach.

Google has billions of users. Want to book a hotel? Google it. Want to find the nearest train station? Google it.

People are looking for something specific, and that’s why the searching ads are so relevant. The person that will see your ad is already looking for it.

You can set your budget

You have the option to either set a daily budget or use your entire budget with a start and end date.

Each day, you can check how your ad is performing and how much of the budget has been spent, which Google tracks (PPC).

The formula is as follows: Total amount spent/ Total measured clicks.

Try different strategies

There are different bidding strategies available depending on whether your aim is to:

  • Drive traffic to your website (CPC bidding – Cost per Click
  • Increase sales (CPA bidding – Cost per Action), which sets bids for you to get as many conversions or customer actions as possible. Rather than paying Google every time someone clicks on your ad, CPA bidding only requires payment for each conversion.
  • Build brand awareness (CPM bidding – Cost per Thousand Impressions) a way to maximise the overall impression of your display ad.

At Grow marketing, we have always encouraged our clients to include Google ads in their marketing strategy because of its great return on investment. It’s a small budget for a massive impact.

Here’s a review from one of our customers that chose Google Ads as their main strategy:

Grow Marketing have been great to work with – we always find them helpful and efficient. Our latest campaign has seen an impressive return on investment and helped us to target potential learners looking to hone their digital skills. We look forward to working with them again in the future.
